Sylwia Romaniuk Couture
Overview
Sylwia Romaniuk is a Polish fashion designer and the founder, CEO, and creative director of the luxury women's fashion house SYLVIA. Working with Aurora Agency, I served as the lead designer for the project. The initial brief focused on creating an opulent web presence that reflects the couture fashion she designs.
One of the main objectives was to make the site feel like an immersive experience for visitors, incorporating video, motion, and photography. A key part of the brief was to provide customers with an easy way to book an appointment at the Atelier, where they can meet Sylwia in person and receive a personalized fitting.
Design
Working within the brand guidelines established by Aurora, I developed a design that incorporated illustrated floral patterns, subtle colours, and a layout that allowed the beautiful photography to take centre stage. My primary goal for the UI was to create a clean, elegant design that struck a balance between imagery and typography.
One key aspect I aimed to translate into the site was a sense of opulence. Conveying this in a digital medium can be challenging, especially compared to print, where materials, inks, and foils can provide a tactile, premium feel. To achieve this, I explored the use of motion and inertial scrolling through Greensock.js to give the site a luxurious feel. Transitions between pages were designed to be fluid and smooth, avoiding any jarring effects.
